Creating a Babysitter Binder...

I got this idea from my sister-in-law. I made a “Babysitter Binder” that includes anything from emergency information to kids’ schedules to instructions on how to work the technology in our home. It is so nice to have all this information in one place, instead of scribbling something on a notepad that may or may not be sufficient for your babysitter to have an experience of smooth sailing with your children. You want your sitter to focus on your kids, not be flustered. This is also a great tool to have on hand if you are ever out of town sans kids.
This binder is a no hassle, all-inclusive book of answers to babysitter’s FAQs!
I can already hear them thanking you for making one...
First, I have the documents saved to my computer so I can edit them every few months - because as you well know, our kids' needs seem to change with the seasons! I also felt that the younger my kids were, the more often I had to update the binder because milestones were constantly being met and routines were ever-evolving. It was also far more detailed when they were younger... you'll find that as your kids grow, a babysitter becomes more of a supervisor/facilitator than actually aiding in their survival! ;)
I am a teacher and sometimes my husband has to travel for work. On the days he travels, I need a sitter for the morning. Below you'll see a sample from my binder that outlines our routine to help our morning run smoothly for whoever is taking care of my kiddos - I even include a little blurb about the dog!

I can't tell you how many compliments I have had on having this binder. I would be remiss not to share with all of you! Below is an editable document to create your own! My hope is that this document serves as a backbone to your own babysitter binder. Feel free to e-mail me any questions and have fun with it!
